Having traveled the world, it’s pretty hard to pick a favorite place, but Germany is definitely one of my favorite countries to visit. (And U.S. News and World Report did just name it the best country in the world.) Although I highly recommend everyone celebrate all that is soccer & beer in Munich and shop & eat your hearts out in sexy, cosmopolitan Berlin, I’m going to tell you all about a lesser known travel destination- Freiburg. A city in the south west of Germany.

December in Germany: My Favorite Christmas Markets
There is no place quite like Deutschland at Christmas time. Whether Christmas is your holiday or not, the lively Christmas markets, festive lights & decorations adorning every corner (literally) and the merry spirit of the hospitable Germans make visiting this time of year such a joy. I have called the south of Germany my home away from home for the past several Christmas’. So, I wanted to write my first post about one of my favorite things- Christmas Markets.
Although I’ve enjoyed the markets in the big cities like Berlin & Frankfurt, the most charming ones are in the smaller regions in the south.
